Ginna Roe joined the 2News team in January of 2018 as the station’s first-ever multimedia journalist. As a one-woman-show, she shoots, writes and edits her own stories each day.
Ginna is passionate about journalism and, more importantly, people.
Ginna grew up in Hudson, Wisconsin, along the St. Croix River. For as long as she can remember, she’s wanted to be a reporter. She earned a bachelor degree in journalism at the University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire. While in college, she interned on Capitol Hill and got the chance to report from overseas in Moldova.
After graduating, Ginna landed her first job at WXOW-TV in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Her reporting took her to Selma, Alabama, where she spent five days covering the 50th Anniversary of Bloody Sunday. Her three-part series, "Wisconsin to Selma: Bringing History Home," won an Emmy Award.
Before moving to Salt Lake City, Ginna worked in Knoxville, Tennessee. There she wore many hats as a multimedia journalist and producer.
As a lover of the outdoors, Ginna is grateful to call the beautiful state of Utah home. She’s excited to explore the Wasatch Mountains with her pup, Dolly.
Most of all, Ginna is looking forward to getting to know the great people of Utah and the chance to tell their stories.
