The Film: Set during the First Cylon War a young and arrogant William Adama is sent on a mission that may turn the tide of the war in humanity’s favor.
The Extras: Deleted Scenes, “Blood & Chrome: Visual Effects” Featurette
Recommendation: Since the conclusion of the epic reboot of the “Battlestar Galactica” series Syfy and Universal have been desperately looking for a way to revive the franchise. “Blood & Chrome” was intended as a pilot for a new series set during the First Cylon War based around a young version of William Adama. Sadly the results are lackluster. The visual effects are stunning, but everything else about the film falls short of expectations. The story starts off well, but loses steam about halfway through and crawls to its less-than-satisfying conclusion. The acting is mediocre, which is partly due to the script. “Blood & Chrome” should have felt like a new beginning; it just feels unnecessary
