(KUTV) The biggest new releases for this week are split between Tuesday and Friday. Tuesday sees the release of Peter Jackson’s “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey,” the acclaimed French drama “Rust and Bone” starring Marion Cotillard and 2012’s most controversial and absolutely best film “Zero Dark Thirty.” Friday offers up the cinematic adaptation of the musical masterpiece “Les Misérables” and Judd Apatow’s newest comedy “This Is 40.”
 
Other notable releases this week include the French thriller “The Big Picture,” the award winning drama “The Other Son” and William Hurt and Cary Elwes in the otherworldly horror film “Hellgate.”
 
The Criterion also adds two new titles to its collection with 1973’s “Badlands” starring Sissy Spacek and Martin Sheen and the Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger directed classic “The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp.”
 
Those looking for something less highbrow may be interested in the Blu-ray debut for 1982’s “Porky’s” and the sixth and final season of “Jersey Shore.”
