Movie Review: The Hangover Part III
2.5 out of 5 Stars
Director: Todd Philips
Starring: Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakas
Recommended To: Those who have stuck with the Wolfpack through the funny and not-so-funny films.
Synopsis: Alan’s (Zach Galifianakis) intervention goes awry when Mr. Chow (Ken Jeong) escapes prison putting the Wolfpack in the middle of a very tricky situation.
Review: Rather than simply recycling the plot of the franchise’s previous two entries The Hangover Part III heads in an entirely different direction altogether. The results are better than the Wolfpack’s adventures in Bangkok, but the film isn’t remotely as funny, wild or clever as the groups first round of debauchery on Vegas’ strip as the tone is far more serious, the violence more menacing and the cameos are less inspired. Still, if you’ve made it through The Hangover Part II with any affinity left for the Wolfpack, you’ll probably be somewhat satisfied by the series’ finale. And if you’re not director/writer Todd Philips has included another outrageous scene halfway through the credits that might change your mind.
