The Watch

Recommended to • Long-suffering fans of Ben Stiller, those that want a watered down version of the vastly superior invasion comedy “Attack the Block” and fans of bad movies.
When a security guard is killed at the local Cosco the store’s manager (Ben Stiller) forms a neighborhood watch to find the killer unaware that the perpetrator is of extraterrestrial origins.
I was looking forward to seeing “The Watch.” I’m not so sure why.
The film wants to be charming, clever and crass. It only manages to be crass. The performances are lifeless, the script is banal and the results are mind-numbingly bad. You’d be better off seeing “Ted,” revisiting the sci-fi comedy “Paul” or tracking down the brilliantly funny and action packed “Attack the Block.”

The Mob are a group of street dancers in Miami looking to win $100,000 by racking up ten million hits on their Youtube page. Their focus changes when a wealthy businessman intent on building a high-end resort threatens to level their neighborhood. Insert a romance, soap-opera drama and betrayal with random acts of flash mobbing and you have “Step Up Revolution.”
