Simplify Supper: Hawaiian BBQ sliders

  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground coriander
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 boneless pork roast
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1/4 cup wesson oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon old hickory smoked salt
  • 1 package King's Hawaiian Sweet Dinner Rolls


  1. To make rub for pork roast, combine in a small bowl 1/4 cup light brown sugar, coriander, 1 tablespoon garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper, cumin and cinnamon. Mix well and rub onto pork roast. Place roast in slow cooker.
  2. To make Hawaiian BBQ sauce combine in a small saucepan the pineapple juice, soy sauce, red wine vinegar, oil, ginger, 1 tablespoon brown sugar, 1 teaspoon garlic powder and smoked salt. Set heat to medium and bring just to a boil then reduce and stir until thickened. Pour over roast and set slow cooker on low 8-10 hours or high 5-7.
  3. Shred cooked meat and serve inside a King's Hawaiian dinner roll.
