(KUTV) Miss Utah Lauren Wilson says it takes years and years of preparation to compete in local, state, and national pageants--especially for the talent portion of the competition.
"You can't just whip out a talent and win a local, state, or national pageant," Wilson said. "That's something that you have to develop through years of practice."
Fortunately, Wilson has a talent for dancing. She has been dancing since she was two years old, so the talent portion of the competition wasn't too difficult for her to manage.
What she did have to work on, was the interview and swimsuit portions.
"I am a huge carb lover, especially when it comes to pizza," Wilson said. "I have a major addiction to pizza and Oreo shakes. So cutting those out for a while and sticking to my proteins and especially green vegetables was hard to me."
