(KUTV) When VidAngel was sued by Disney and other Hollywood studios, CEO Neal Harmon called it "a blow."
But it now makes economic sense to him.
"Disney's the only one who stands to lose anything economically from VidAngel's success," Harmon said.
VidAngel got a lot of support after they were handed the lawsuit. Thousands of people donated to help with legal costs.
"We had almost 8,000 American families invest $10 million so we could fight the fight," Harmon said.
That support and energy gave the VidAngel team drive.
"We felt like we were fighting a battle not for us--we were fighting a battle for hundreds of thousands of American families," he said.
