An Adoption Journey for Young Utah Couple
(KUTV) A young couple is hoping to one day become parents. The love story of Jared and Lindsay Boggess started 7-years ago when the couple went on their first date. The two got married on September 10, 2011 – or 9/10/11. Shortly after they got married, the two immediately focused on starting a family. “We knew we wanted kids,” said Lindsay. “We always questioned whether he could have kids so it was in the back of our mind that we might have to go through adoption and IVF.”

The journey first took them through fertility treatments. The couple tried Intrauterine insemination, or IUI. When that failed, they then tried In Virtro Fertilization, or IVF. In November, the couple learned the IVF treatment failed. After the heartbreaking news, the two decided to take a break. “I said let’s just take the holidays off and forget all about it,” said Jared. “Let’s just go back to living. And then we started again about the end of February.”

However, this time the couple would go down a different path. They decided to adopt. “Right now, the age we are at and where we are in life, we just thought adoption might work better for us,” said Lindsay. “And we want to adopt siblings and maybe get older kids maybe.”

Lindsay and Jared are looking to adopt through fostering. They have completed required classes through the state of Utah. And a room is empty in their house that they hope will one day be filled with laughter of their adopted children. Right now, Lindsay and Jared are just waiting for the call. “We kind of realized how many kids that are out there that need good homes. It just feels right,” said Lindsay.
