Benefits for women provided by the Affordable Care Act
1.Insurance premiums for Men and Women must be the same
2.There is no preexisting condition clause
3.Must cover Maternity care
4.No co-payment for birth control
-All FDA approved methods
-Sterilizations
5.Access to depression screening
6.Counseling for domestic violence at no additional charge
7.Mammogram every 2 years
8.Yearly annual exam
9.Cervical cancer screening (PAP or HPV)
10.Alcohol abuse screening and counseling
11.Tobacco counseling and cessation intervention. Expanded for pregnant women
12.Sexually transmitted disease screening
13.No referral required for you to see your Ob/Gyn doctor
14.Breastfeeding support with equipment rental cost covered (Breast Pump)
15.Employers are required to provide a space for breast-feeding along with a reasonable break time for women to pump (must be other than the bathroom)
16.Home visiting program to help and educated through the pregnancy and 1st three (3) years of life

Preventive Services
1.No deductible and no co-pay
2.Services covered Gynecology
-Well-Woman exams
-Mammograms
-PAP smears
-Contraceptive coverage.
-Human papillomavirus testing (HPV)
--Associated with cervical cancer
-Counseling for sexually transmitted infections
-Counseling for HIV
-Screening and counseling for interpersonal and domestic violence
-Sex education for Teens
3.Services covered Obstetrics:
-Prenatal care. The type and amount will be left to the State to choose from list of options
-Screening for gestational diabetes
-Rh (D) blood typing and antibody testing
-Folic acid supplementation
-Breastfeeding
--Lactation support and counseling
--Costs for renting equipment
