Researchers Study Effects of Sports-Related Concussions
(KUTV) A new study is looking into the effects of sports-related concussions and mild traumatic brain injuries in former professional football players.
For the first time researchers at UCLA have been able to identify the abnormal proteins in the brains of players while they are still alive.
Researchers warn the findings are very preliminary and larger studies need to be done.
According to the centers for disease control and prevention, more than one million Americans suffer a mild traumatic brain injury occur each year.
