2015 Utah Film Critics Association Awards

Mad Max: Fury Road (Warner Bros)

SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) The annual meeting of the Utah Film Critics Association (UFCA) took place Monday night. I've come to expect the unexpected; there are always a handful of winners that go against national trends. 2015 was a great year for movies with more than its share of standout films and performances. There were numerous categories where I would have been comfortable with any of our nominees coming away with the award.

Here's a look at our winners.

Best Picture:

Best Original Screenplay:

Best Adapted Screenplay:
Drew Goddard, THE MARTIAN
(Runner-up: Nick Hornby, BROOKLYN)

Best Cinematography:

Best Documentary:
