Young girl injured after getting hit during Bluffdale parade
(KUTV) A young girl taking part in the Bluffdale parade was injured Saturday when she was hit by the trailer transporting her team.
The incident happened around 9:30 a.m. near 14539 South 2700 West in the middle of the parade.
Witnesses told 2News the girl was trying to cross the hitch between the truck and trailer when she slipped onto the road and was hit by the trailer.
The girl was part of the Bluffdale-based MCD Dance Academy. Staffers on scene told 2News the girl was coherent and talking after the accident. She had some scrapes and was bleeding, they said.
The girl was taken to the hospital by ambulance, said Saratoga Springs Police Sgt. Jeremy Wright. He did not have information on her exact condition.
The parade was delayed while paramedics treated the girl but started up again around 10:00 a.m.
The exact age of the girl was not immediately unavailable.
