Healthy Food For Kids
Fall sports are in full swing and that means its time for parents to take turns bringing yummy treats to practice and games.

Chef Kimberly Larsen from Harmon's shows how to make some fun snacks that are a delicious and healthier alternative to grabbing a box of Twinkies for the team.

Cherry Chocolate Quinoa Granola 
Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups old fashioned rolled oats
1 cup cooked red Quinoa
1 cup sliced almonds
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup dried cherries
1 cup dark chocolate chips
1/2 tablespoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon vanilla bean paste
1/2 cup butter 

Instructions:
1.Preheat Oven to 325 degrees.
2.Line cookie sheet with parchment paper.
3.Melt butter in a small saucepan on medium heat.
4.Bring butter to light boil.
5.Remove from heat.
6.Stir in honey and vanilla bean paste.
7.In a large bowl combine oats, quinoa, cherries, almonds with cinnamon.
8.Pour mixture over honey and butter mixture.
9.Toss until combined.
10.Spread onto baking sheet.
11.Bake at 325 for 10 minutes.
12.Stir and bake for 10 additional minutes.
13.Stir again and bake for 10 final minutes.
14.Remove cookie sheet for oven and allow to cool.
15.Break up granola and toss with chocolate chips.
16.Divide into individual baggies and enjoy!

Fun Flavor Popcorn
Pumpkin Spice
Ingredients:6 cups popped corn
1/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon ginger
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon cloves 

Instructions:
1.In small bowl combined sugar, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and cloves. 
2.Sprinkle over popcorn, tossing to evenly coat.
3.Divide into serving size baggies.

Parmesan Cheese & Chive
Ingredients:
4 cups popped corn
1/2 cup fresh Parmesan, finely grated
1 tablespoon fresh chives, minced

Instructions:
1.While popcorn is warm toss with grated cheese and chives.
2.Divide into serving size baggies.

Chocolate Peanut Pop
Ingredients:
6 cups popped corn
1 cup dark chocolate chips
1/4 cup almond butter
1/4 cup heavy cream
1 1/2 cup roasted peanuts

Instructions:
1.In large bowl combined popcorn and peanuts.
2.In small saucepan bring cream to a scald, bubbles around edge of pan.
3.Remove from heat and stir in chocolate chips and almond butter. 
4.When chocolate is smooth drizzle over popcorn and peanuts.
5.Toss until combined.
 6.Allow to cool and chocolate to harden.
7.Divide popcorn into serving size baggies.

Halloween Trail Mix
2 cups granola
1 cup peanuts
1/2 cup pumpkin seeds
1/3 cup candy corns
1/3 cup almond M&Ms 

Instructions:
1.Combined ingredient in medium bowl. 
2.Portion out into serving size baggies.
