(KUTV) The vinyl siding on Jason and Randi Cleverly's Bountiful home is warped and falling off.

“Within about the first year we started to notice pieces loosening or warping,” Randi said.

It's not what the couple expected when they had it installed a mere five years ago by a big name in construction: Home Depot.

“We felt really comfortable with the Home Depot because they're a name we recognize and we thought they would back up their product,” she said.

Home Depot did back up their product. In fact, the work came with a three year craftsmanship warranty. It’s a warranty that Randi and Jason have used.

"[Home Depot] sent the contractor out to make some repairs, but he just rehung the pieces that had fallen and some of them were cracked and broken," Randi said.

Now that the warranty period has passed, Randi says Home Depot has stopped returning her calls. Frustrated, she decided to Get Gephardt.

Get Gephardt called home depot on Randi's behalf and pointed out that even though the warranty has expired, surly a home’s siding should last more than a few years. This time, Home Depot agreed.

“We’re truly sorry that this happened, but we’re glad to have had the chance to fix the situation,” Said Stephen Holmes with Home Depot. “We have a great warranty for our siding program and always do our very best to stand behind that promise. We’re’ sorry that didn’t go smoothly in this instance.”

A few days after our calls to Home Depot, the company dispatched a crew to Jason and Randi’s home. Home Depot has decided to do more than repair the bad parts; they are completely replacing all of the siding with their apologies for Jason and Randi's trouble.
