Low Utah Unemployment Rate, Graco Recall Expanded and High Tax Return Average
(KUTV) Utah continues to be better than the rest of the country when it comes to getting people who want to work, working.
Federal unemployment numbers have come out and they were good, nationally the unemployment rate fell to 6.6%, which is the lowest it has been in a long time.
More jobs in Utah are dropping the state's unemployment numbers. Utah's now back to under 4 percent, the lowest it has been since 2008.
The state has frequently been below the national average for unemployment.
Last month Graco recalled millions of child car seats and the recall may extend.
The feds want answers from the company about why they didn't recall infant seats. Graco says there's a second way the belts release on those seats, but the NHTSA isn't completely buying it and wants more details.
If you haven't filed your taxes yet, maybe you should do that sooner than later. The average refund amount is just over three grand this year, that's up from last year's average.
Remember, the government shutdown last year may have set the I.R.S. behind, but that doesn't mean you get to file late. Tax returns are due April 15th.
