(KUTV) A Utah doctor that was paralyzed from the neck down is walking again, and he's helping others who are paralyzed do the same.
It sounds too good to be true, but it is. Dr. Dale Hull broke his neck on his trampoline at 44-years-old. Now he is not only walking again, but he's helping others to beat the odds.
Dr. Dale Hull was a successful OB/GYN and was in practice for 10 years. Then on July 19, 1999 Dale broke his neck while trying to do a back flip on a trampoline. He said, "I knew the best I could hope for is having one arm to drive a joystick on a power wheelchair. That was really my only goal."
Amazingly three weeks after the accident Dale started to feel touch. With the help of Jan Black, a rehab specialist, Dale would spend another 2 1/2 years of serious rehab to learn to walk again.
The two then opened Neuroworx in South Jordan, Utah in June of 2004. Their goal was to help others with neurological injuries gain back as much mobility as possible. So far, thousands of patients have been helped at Neuroworx. Next month they will commemorate their 10 year anniversary with a big celebration.
