Republicans Attack Obama On Sequester Cuts
(KUTV) Both President Obama and the Republican party rallied Saturday against so-called sequester cuts. These cuts would be sudden deep cuts to the military and domestic spending programs.

Republican Martha Roby attacked President Obama over these cuts, saying it was his idea in the first place and these automatic cuts will hurt the economy.

President Obama countered in his weekly address, calling for Congress to decide on a deficit-cutting plan to avoid these dramatic spending cuts.

"I propose a balanced approach,"  Obama said. "One that brings responsible reforms that bring down the cost of healthcare and getting rid of tax deductions for the well off and well connected."

Congress has gone home for a 10-day President's Day recess and won't return until Feb. 25, just days before the sequester is set to take
effect.
