(KUTV) This week’s Pay It Forward is 9-year-old Armani McFarland. Armani recently learned that there are other children in the world who go to bed hungry every night.
“I thought it was sad. I didn’t want anybody to be hungry when they go to bed,” Armani said.
She decided that she wanted to make a difference, so she started collecting food, school supplies and now, backpacks.
Armani’s first goal was to collect 200 pounds of food for Catholic Community Services in Ogden. She ended up with about 1,000 pounds.
Now, Armani is looking to the new school year. She is gathering 100 backpacks and school supplies for those in need.
