Web Exlcusive: Serving in Desert Storm
SHAUNA LAKE: So you served in Desert Storm. You're a vet. I know that is a cause that is near and dear to your heart. You love serving. That had to have changed you as a person.
BEAR: You know what Desert Storm is nothing compared to what they are doing now days. It did change me but I think it changed me for the better I think. And I really really enjoyed doing it just for the sake that I got to serve. It was nice to be able to give back.
SHAUNA LAKE: How did it change you for the better?
BEAR: I think it changed me better as a person just because I volunteered for it. I was attached to another unit. I was attached to another unit so they attached me to a unit from Mississippi. You know just having to learn to work with the different cultures it was just different to work with people from Mississippi. Kind of being on my own. I didn't really have a name. They just called me yank. It was kind of tough. I think I just got more pride out of it just knowing that I did something important.
