Web Exclusive: Keith on the Radio
SHAUNA LAKE: Talk about a renaissance person just doing kind of all these different things. You’re also a sports radio host.
KEITH STUBBS: Yeah a few years ago I got a phone call from a radio station here in town, from a radio deejay saying, “Look we have a morning show, would you consider being my co-host on this morning show?” And it was on The Eagle, the country station here in town, and I said, “Yeah.” They said, “Have you done radio?” I go, “I’ve been a guest on a lot of radio shows across the nation, but no I’ve never been a host of a radio show.” They asked me if I was interested in auditioning, and I said, “Yeah why not?” I did. I got the gig, and I did country radio in the mornings for eight years, and that ended in May. But I really love sports, and I’ve always loved sports. So I started doing fill-in work the last couple of years on the different sports stations here in town, and I was offered a position a couple months ago, and now I have a show on ESPN 700, that’s called Sports Saturday with Stubbs. That’s the name of the show. But yeah it’s a sports radio show, and I absolutely love it. There’s a little more freedom, a lot more talk, a lot more opportunities for comedy.
