Web Exclusive: Goal Zero
SHAUNA LAKE: So tell me about this company. How many people are working here and what exactly are you doing? And how do you get the sustainable power to these other areas?
ROBERT WORKMAN: So Goal Zero has about 100 employees now. What we do for our give back, we work with…through Tifie and through other partners that we still to and we find projects that we can now take this power and make it work for them. So it might be light a village. Our first light a village serves over 55 homes…some off grid full power system that these people would never have power in their lifetime, maybe two lifetimes, it would never happen. Our most recent thing that we’re working on is down in the Philippines. So we’re working now to rebuild and light one hundred families. So we put them in a home that’s sustainable for two to three years. That same home then can be converted to a permanent home for 25 years. And they’ll go in there with their power systems and their garden systems. And so in the Philippines project we’re hitting three of our goals which is power, shelter and food. So that’s a great project.
