Web Exclusive: Size of the Aquarium
SHAUNA LAKE: People would underestimate Im sure, what goes into a facility like this. Tell us kind of if you can in Laymans termsI mean this is a major, major undertaking.
BRENT ANDERSEN: I mean to put in terms of you know somebodys house, maybe a 2,000 square foot house, imagine building 70 houses all at once, its all got to be done at the same time, and oh by the way, you have to have life support systems for all these complex ecosystems so the animals can live there too. And so it just is an immense undertaking trying to get all of that ready.
SHAUNA LAKE: And I was so impressed when I heard it was the 9th largest in the nation.
BRENT ANDERSEN: Yeah you know we didnt really plan it to be that way. We were just planning what we thought would be the best possible aquarium, and you know the square footages of each exhibit and area and what we wanted to add, and it wasnt until we went through, actually it was an old feasibility study about putting an aquarium in Utah, and we looked through that and we went wow were kind of in the top ten here on aquariums on square footage and it turns out that was the case.
