Person 2 Person: The Evolution of Pagaents
Marissa Powell discusses how pageants have changed.
Shauna Lake: It seems like pageants have kind of changed. You know the toddler and tiara reputation and the Jon Ramsey and those kind of like bad stigmas around pageants. It seems like a lot of times more recently there a lot of really really bright, talented and like you said this is just one thing they pursue all these other passions. Have you noticed that the caliber of girls competing has changed?
Marissa Powell: Absolutely. I mean all of the women that are there are smart, talented, and articulate. The whole time we are there you are in front of cameras. You have to be on you’re A game the whole time your there. From the time you wake up to the time you go to sleep for two and half weeks every single day. It’s amazing to have that many amazing girls in one room. It’s very empowering.
