President To Host Group Of Governors To Talk About Fiscal Cliff
(KUTV) President Obama will host a group of Governors Tuesday to talk about the upcoming ‘fiscal cliff’ – the series of tax raises and spending cuts due to kick in at the end of the
“The President has a huge responsibility to work together with Congress and find a solution to avert the fiscal cliff,” said Rep. Joe Wilson of South Carolina.
Congressional Republicans came up with a counter-proposal to avoid the fiscal cliff and the White House has already rejected the offer.
The GOP Plan included $800-billion in higher tax revenue but keeps all of the Bush-era tax cuts for everyone.
The White House says the President will only approve a plan that repeals the Bush tax cuts for the highest earners.
