House Avoids Sandy Aid Vote
(KUTV) The House adjourned without providing any aid to victims of Hurricane Sandy Tuesday night – and Democrats, and some Republicans, were hoping the House would pass the $60.4-billion aid bill already passed by the Senate.
Tuesday night’s move means the new Congress will have to tackle the issue – and that the entire legislative process for the bill will have to restart.
Republican leaders say the deal on the Fiscal Cliff took so much time that they did not have any left to discuss the Sandy bill.
