Executive Order Authorizes U.S. Sanctions Targeting Russia
(CNN) -- A new executive order signed Thursday by President Barack Obama authorizes possible new U.S. sanctions targeting Russia's financial services, energy, metals and mining, defense, and engineering sectors, a senior U.S. administration official said Thursday, adding that the move provides the capability for a response if Russia further escalates the Ukrainian crisis.
