North Korea Performs Nuclear Test
(KUTV) North Korea has performed another nuclear test.
The UN organization that monitors nuclear tests says it detected what it called an "unusual seismic event" at nearly 9pm ET.
Nuclear blasts can create tremors similar to earthquakes, but they are distinct from those caused by natural earthquakes.
A South Korean defense minister says North Korea informed China and the United States of its plans to conduct a third nuclear test.
The communist country also performed nuclear tests in 2006 and 2009.
