Bye-Bye Granite High School; Bulding will be demolished paving the way for homes
SOUTH SALT LAKE —
(KUTV) The South Salt Lake planning commission met Thursday evening to determine the fate of what was once Granite High School. It was a passionate meeting with members of the community recognizing it was the last chance to save the building that many consider historic.
But in the end, the commission determined they have no legal or ethical ground to stop a community development proposed by Garbett Homes.
Granite High School will be demolished within the next six months, making way for 76 family homes and, perhaps one day, a commercial shopping district.
