ARREST: Cops nab Layton man accused of recording women under bathroom doors
(KUTV) - Detectives in Layton say there may be additional victims of a man who was arrested for allegedly recording women in public bathrooms.
Gregory Robert Shack, 53, faces voyeurism charges after a woman saw movement under the bathroom door at a medical facility at 2950 N. Church Street and followed Shack to his car.
The victim was able to get his license plate number and alert police.
"Detectives interviewed Mr. Shack and conducted an investigation, and learned that he had in fact been recording women using the bathroom by holding his cell phone under the door. This occurred on several occasions and involved several women. The investigation also revealed that Mr. Shack has done this in Bountiful, and possibly other places," Layton Police wrote in a press release Wednesday afternoon.
Police say Shack was seen loitering around the public women's restroom on the 3rd floor of the Layton Medical Plaza. Police say it did not occur in any of the private areas of the clinics, businesses, or tenants of the building.
Police ask anyone who suspects they have been a victim to contact Layton Police at 801-497-8300.
Shack is a previous sex offender, according to police.
