Eagle Mountain sex offender charged for 35 counts of child sex abuse
(KUTV) — A 33-year-old man from Eagle Mountain, who was arrested in early May on suspicion of 50 felonies, has now been charged with 35 counts of sex crimes involving a minor.
The man, identified as Jonathon Damion Nixon, was charged in early May for allegedly molesting a young girl and holding "sleepovers" for girls in his apartment. Detectives say Nixon admitted to committing sexual acts with at least three different 7-year-old girls. Police say the abuse was "more extensive" with one of Nixon's alleged victims, beginning when she was 4 years old and continuing "until recently."
Evidence was submitted on Monday for the new charges against Nixon.
Court documents say that between May 12, 2014 and February 27, 2018 in Eagle Mountain, Nixon molested a minor at his apartment.
Nixon confessed to the abuse, according to court documents.
The man molested one of the minor's friends on or between July 10, 2017 and February 27, 2018 in his apartment, court documents state. He reportedly confessed to having "lusty feelings" for the girl.
According to court documents, Nixon fully confessed to all counts.
Nixon is a registered sex offender, stemming from charges in 2006 involving unlawful sexual activity with a minor. This aggravates Nixon's current allegations. He was booked into jail on $500,000 cash-only bail.
He faces the following charges:
- 12 counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child
- 12 counts of sodomy upon a child
- 10 counts of lewdness by a sex offender involving a child
