South Salt Lake teen who was shot, hospitalized dies
(KUTV) — The 16-year-old teen who was hospitalized after being shot in South Salt Lake died early Wednesday morning.
The victim is a 10th grader who was walking home from an alternative school when he was shot. His name has not yet been released.
According to Granite School District officials, the victim was part of the "Step Program," which is for students who have violated the Safe Schools Policy by either committing crime or a violation, such as bullying.
Police have yet to release any details on why the shooting happened.
