(KUTV) - A Layton spa has closed its door, it’s owner accused of money laundering and exploiting prostitution.

An employee of a nearby business who didn’t want to be identified said the Golden Day Spa Massage in Layton wasn’t around in the shopping complex he works in for long. "It just barely opened up a few months ago. I was surprised why it closed down so fast," he said.

According to court paperwork, the Layton Police Department received several tips saying that sexual acts were being offered for sale at the spa. Undercover officers began to investigate. They said they went to the website www.backpage.com. The business was advertised as “Happy Happy Asian Massage.” The owner of the business listed as 56-year Zehong Wang.

"I didn’t notice anything shady or anything like that," the young man said. On multiple occasions, officers conducted undercover operations at the spa and were solicited for sexual acts for money according to the court documents.

Wang has been charged with 2nd-degree Felony Money Laundering, 3rd-degree Felony Exploiting a Prostitute and Class B Misdemeanor Sexual Solicitation.

Wang has since posted bail. Her next court date is set for February 2, 2018.
