Local growers aim to squash competition at Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off
(KUTV) In Utah County, competition weighed heavily at Thanksgiving Point.
The Utah Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off took place on Sept. 24 and featured pumpkins that topped the scales at more than half of a ton.
Pumpkin growers trying to squash the competition had their work cut out for them — last year's winning pumpkin weighed in at more than 1,400 pounds.
But Ed Bennif's pumpkin triumphed, weighing in at 1,495.5 pounds, according to Lindsay Bench of the Utah Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off.
