Message found in Roy High School bathroom says school shooting is coming soon
(KUTV) — Police are investigating another threat of violence at a Utah high school.
Parents of Roy High School students received a letter on Wednesday about a threat made the day before.
According to the email sent out by school staff, someone wrote a threatening message in the bathroom on Tuesday telling students there would be a shooting at the school in two days.
The high school reported they do not believe the threats are credible. Police say someone is trying to "gain attention."
As of Wednesday night, police could not confirm whether the threats were legitimate as their investigation is on-going.
Police told 2News this is the second time graffiti has been found in the bathroom at the school in the last two weeks.
Officials said they are taking the threats seriously and the investigation is on-going.
School administration wrote they will still hold class on Thursday, but there will be heightened police presence as a precaution.
As of early Thursday morning, the Weber School District did not have a comment for 2News.
We will continue updating this story as more information becomes available.
