Neighbors render first aid to SLC stabbing victim, likely saving his life
UPDATE: The suspect has been identified as Dyann Hernandez, 23, by Salt Lake Police Department.
(KUTV) At around 12:20 a.m. Wednesday morning, a man's life was likely saved by his neighbors after getting stabbed by his female next door neighbor.
The victim's neighbors witnessed the stabbing take place, at 820 W. Arapahoe Avenue.
The neighbors saw a woman, Hernandez, whom they identified to police as the victim's next door neighbor, come up to him and stab him several times in the area of the neck. Hernandez then fled in a car.
Neighbors called police and rendered first aid to the victim, likely saving his life. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Detectives are still investigating and interviewing people.
The victim and Hernandez have reportedly had disputes in the past, but there is currently no information available as to what led up to the stabbing.
