One hospitalized following officer-involved shooting in Murray
(KUTV) An Adult Probation and Parole Agent is on paid administration leave following a Saturday morning shooting.
The agent was in his car participating in Metro Gang Unit operation near 4500 South and Main Street in Murray when somebody approached.
Authorities say that person started an argument with the agent. The confrontation ended with the agent firing shots.
Another person rushed the man to the hospital in critical condition, where he is receiving treatment.
Authorities have not released his identity, but say he was on parole with the Utah Department of Corrections.
The Salt Lake District Attorney's Office will now work with the Utah Department of Correction's Law Enforcement Bureau to investigate the shooting.
The name of the agent involved has not been released, but he is on administrative leave.
