Osa Masina sentenced to 365 days in jail for sexual battery

UPDATE, December 5, 2017, 2:46 p.m.: Osa Masina has been sentenced to 365 days in jail, 36 months probation and required to have a psycho-sexual evaluation.

(KUTV) Osa Masina, a former Brighton High School football player and reserve linebacker for USC, pleaded guilty to three counts of sexual battery Thursday morning.

At about 8:45 a.m. Masina pleaded guilty.

Masina, 19, was charged with rape, a first degree felony, and two counts of forcible sodomy, also first degree felonies, in September 2016.

Both sexual battery felonies were reduced to class A misdemeanors. Masina pleaded guilty to the reduced charges, all three being misdemeanors.

Masina is scheduled to be sentenced on December 5, 2017.
