Police identify teens killed coming home from prom
(KUTV) Police identified the Moab teens killed in a crash Saturday evening while driving home from prom.
Fourteen-year-old, Taylor Bryant, and 16-year-old, Connor Denney, were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, according to a Facebook post from San Jaun County Sheriffs Department, both of Grand County High School.
According to the post, the car rolled several times ejecting three of the five people inside.
The third ejected victim, Daniel McCray, 17, was flown to a hospital and remains in critical condition.
The other two victims were not ejected, but also flown to a hospital and remain in critical condition. Police identified these victims as Gage Moore, 17, and Tierney Demille, 14 of Grand County Middle School.
Police believe speed and alcohol may have played role in the crash.
Police continue to investigate the crash. Details will be added as they become available.
The Grand County School District released an updated statement about the accident. It was later taken down but it read in part:
The entire staff of Grand County School District is mourning this tragedy, along with our students. It's never easy to see young lives cut short and incidents like this impact us all. This loss will affect the entire community.
