San Juan County Sheriff in court after being accused of pointing gun at former deputy
San Juan County, Utah —
(KUTV) The San Juan County Sheriff accused of pointing a gun at one of his former deputies was present in a preliminary hearing in Monticello Friday.
Rick Eldredge isn't the only one being charged. Sgt. Robert Wilcox, accused of being with Eldredge at the time when he allegedly pointed the gun, is charged with three misdemeanors: official misconduct, reckless endangerment and obstruction of justice.
The third individual in his case is Chief Deputy Alan Freestone, who led the internal investigation. He is being charged with one count of felony witness retaliation and two misdemeanors: obstruction of justice and official misconduct.
