Storm destroys townhouses under construction in Daybreak
(KUTV) Summer storms rolling through the Wasatch Front on Wednesday night caused some structural damage.
A construction site in a subdivision of South Jordan, known as Daybreak, crumbled as a result of the wind.
The damage was caught on camera by a neighbor and 2News viewer. The video shows the trusses of townhouses, near the intersection of Serendipity Way and Oquirrh Lake Road, falling down in a domino effect.
Wind gusts reached 50 mile per hour, which isn't severe but certainly gusty, according to 2News Meteorologist Chase Thomason.
2News reached out to Dawson Building Systems for comment, but haven't heard from the company.
Daybreak is a new development community. Recently, homeowners have experienced structural issues. It wasn't immediately clear if the townhouses involved in Wednesday's wind damage were assigned the same builder and contractor.
