(KUTV) The driver of a vehicle involved in a March crash that killed two Moab teenagers has been charged in their deaths.

Gage Moore, 18, was arrested early Wednesday and booked into the San Juan County Jail on five felony charges including criminal automobile homicide, driving under the influence, and sexual abuse of a child.

Moore was also charged with lewdness involving a child, reckless driving, and unlawful possession or consumption by a minor — all misdemeanors. Specific details about the criminal allegations were not immediately available.

The San Juan County Attorney's Office filed the charges in juvenile court but plans to seek to move the charges to adult court. 2News has chosen to name the defendant because he is 18 and because of the serious nature of the alleged crimes.

The crash happened early in the morning of Mar. 5 in San Juan County. Five teenagers were in the vehicle when it rolled several times. Investigators in San Juan County said alcohol and excessive speed contributed to the crash.

Two teenagers — a 14-year-old and a 17-year-old — were killed. Three others, including Moore, were hurt.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
