Thousands turn downtown SLC pink for annual 'Race for the Cure'
(KUTV) Thousands took the streets of downtown Salt Lake City Saturday morning for the 21st annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.
Clad mostly, in pink the walkers and runners marched through downtown to raise awareness for breast cancer.
Some guests included 2News' own executive producer Melissa Gibbs and morning anchor Mary Nickles, who battled and beat breast cancer in 2012.
Many of the other participants were also survivors or ran in memory of those died fighting the disease.
The yearly 5K raises money for local breast cancer programs and research.
