With Utah's job growth it may be time to ask for a raise
SALT LAKE CITY —
(KUTV)- If you’re hoping to put some extra pennies in your pocket for the holiday season, you may not need to do more than ask your boss for a raise.
Economists say, now is the best time to do it because it’s hard for employers to find good workers.
After the recession, a lot of people were left on the sidelines - they’ve slowly been coming back to work over the years, essentially drying up that pool of candidates.
Unemployment is now around the 3.5% mark in Utah, meaning employers may have to pay more to get the right people in the door, or offer better wages to those they already have on pay roll.
