Woman accused of stabbing neighbor in the neck arrested
(KUTV) Dyann Hernandez, who is accused of stabbing her neighbor in the neck, was arrested Nov. 18 at around 1 p.m.
Hernandez, 23, was wanted after allegedly stabbing her neighbor in the neck on Nov. 15.
The victim's neighbors witnessed the stabbing take place, at 820 W. Arapahoe Avenue.
The witnesses walked over to the victim and found him lying in front of his home with multiple stab wounds to his neck.
According to police, the victim stated to both witnesses "Dyann tried to kill me."
The witnesses gave first aid to the victim, likely saving his life.
According to police, the victim was stabbed 12 times in his neck area, resulting in a life threatening injury. He was also stabbed in the spinal cord and is currently unable to breathe without medical assistance.
Agents with the State Bureau of Investigation were able to determine where Hernandez was going to be on Saturday, and coordinated with UHP troopers to take into custody at a gas station on 3600 W. 4700 S.
Hernandez was then turned over to SLC police. She is charged with attempted murder.
