UPDATE: Fire crews battle huge blaze at Sandy business
UPDATE: The 2-alarm fire at a plastics manufacturing business in Sandy is a total loss, according to firefighters. Crews from several departments battled flames for more than an hour before it was extinguished. Smoke could be seen across the south end of the valley, but the cause of the fire is still unknown.
"Obviously, there's all kinds of different things in a building that burned like that," said Sandy City Fire Deputy Chief Derek Maxfield. "The plastics play a big part as well. We heard from a few people about the smoke and how bad it smelled."
