Young local dancers raise money for Utah Food Bank

(KUTV) Young local dancers competed to raise $50,000 for the Utah Food Bank today at Taylorsville high School.

20 dance studios came together to compete for the "Will Dance for Kids" project, an organization dedicated to the concept of kids helping kids. { }

The director says this dance competition gave dancers the perfect opportunity to help someone else.

"One in five Utah kids doesn't know where their next meal will come from so the need is great," Penny Broussard, Director of The Will Dance for Kids Project, said.{ } "All of these dancers are so blessed and so fortunate so it's such a great life lesson for them to share their time and talents to ehp kids that aren't as forunate."

The $50,000 was raised through sponsors, donations, prize drawings and ticket sales.{ } The "Will Dance for Kids" project is on target to raise $140,000 in donations.
