Family of four found dead at cabin in Parks, AZ
(KUTV) — A family of four was found dead inside a cabin in Parks, Arizona
On the afternoon of Jan. 1, a friend of the family who was staying at a residence in Parks, Arizona called the Coconino County Sheriff's Office to request a welfare check. The caller explained that family members had been trying to contact the family for a few days with no success and had become concerned.
Less than an hour later, the a deputy arrived at the residence and noticed a strong odor of gas coming from the home as he approached.
Additional personnel were requested, and Ponderosa Fire Department was notified and asked to respond.
Fire crews put on protective breathing equipment to enter the residence. Once inside, they found four deceased people inside. They were identified as 32-year-old Anthony Capitiano, 32-year-old Meaghan Capitiano, 4-year-old Lincoln Capitiano, and 3-year-old Kingsley Capitiano of El Mirage, Arizona.
Authorities are investigating the incident as possible carbon monoxide poisoning.
The Medical Examiner's Office will conduct further investigation.
