Annual goose roundup concludes in Salt Lake County
(KUTV) In Salt Lake County an old fashion goose roundup was underway as wildlife officials try and kick the birds out of town.
The roundup started on Monday and ended on Friday, all together more than 850 birds were caught.
It is all part of the plan in this week long urban goose roundup across Salt Lake, as wildlife officers try to take care of a growing problem with these birds.
This is the 9th year the Division of Wildlife Resources has been doing this roundup. Each one of the birds gender is identified and they are tagged.
The week long round up not only included canals, but also golf courses and apartment complexes.
Those involved said they got their share of goose bites, but were glad to be able to help out.
