Spaghetti and Meatballs with Garlic Bread

1 pound beef, coarsely chopped
1 pound pork, coarsely chopped
1 tbsp thyme
½ cup bread crumbs
4 garlic cloves peeled and coarsely chopped
1 small onion, peeled and coarsely chopped
1 tbsp basil
1 tbsp marjoram
1 tsp ground cumin
½ tsp cinnamon
Salt and Freshly ground pepper to taste
Extra Virgin olive oil
1.) Combine all in a bowl of a food processor and pulse several times until meat is ground.
2.) Form meatballs and place on a baking sheet.
3.) Heat a large oven proof sauté pan.
4.) Pour enough extra virgin olive oil to coat bottom of pan.
5.) Sear meatballs until brown and place pan in a 400 degree oven to finish cooking meatballs.
1 lb spaghetti
1.) Cook pasta as directed on package.
1/2 cup red wine
6 Roma tomatoes, diced
½ cup diced onion
3 garlic cloves, minced
salt and freshly cracked pepper
1.) Remove meatballs from sauté pan and place on a plate, set aside.
2.) Pour red wine into sauté pan and place pan back on the stove.
3.) Deglaze sauté pan for 1 minute.
4.) Add remaining ingredients to pan and simmer for an additional minute.
5.) Add meatballs back to sauté pan, cover and simmer for 5 minutes.
6.) Pour sauce over spaghetti.
7.) Shave fresh parmesan cheese over spaghetti and serve with crusty bread.
1 loaf French Bread
1 tbsp softened butter
1 tbsp garlic powder
1.) Cut the French loaf in half and spread each half with butter and garlic powder.
2.) Place under the broiler until toasted. Serve and Enjoy.
